Suggester writes: "A well executed piece. The lighting is perfect with slight glistening on the individual bird's outline. Ultra-Violet-X has portrayed the individual puffins with different personality that make them eerily perfect, cute and funny in the rainy weather! The fact that all the subjects; the cute puffins, are in focus is great and pleasing to the eye while the rain drops and the wet reflections on the rocks provide a atmosphere that's not dreary wet but a "deja vu" feeling with the puffins as the main characters! Great rainy shot indeed! Do visit his gallery!" (

CONCEPT:
This shot looks well-thought out and was executed quite well. Wonderful work!
ORIGINALITY:
I think that there is a relatively high originality factor here: I love how you brought out the different expressions on each individual's face. The rain is a big plus, in this category as well as for the overall impact.
TECHNIQUE:
First off, I love the framing. Sometimes it can be difficult to have a good shot with too many individuals in it, since they can "fight" for the position of primary subject. Here, however, you did it magnificently, giving each puffin the limelight in turn: none of them seem to compete with another for the attention of the viewer.
I was a little bothered by the contrast as well as the colors, though. I do understand that you are going for the look of an overcast, rainy day, but I feel as if the colors and contrast could be upped a bit (not so much that the general feeling goes away, but just enough that it grabs your attention even more).
IMPACT:
There is really a lot to like about this photo. Not only do you make it your own, you display a large amount of respect for the subject; each bird is an individual and you display that. Between that and the rainy setting, it makes for a beautiful piece.
OVERALL
+s: High interest factor, each bird gets their own chance to shine.
-s: Contrast a bit low and colors a little dull.
